The ‘Fete de la Demontagnee’ was held in the Peisey Nancroix valley yesterday – just up the road from White Stripe Mountain Lodge. This is a colourful annual event which marks the time that the animals are brought down from the mountains to spend winter indoors. All the villagers turn up to watch the ‘dressed up’ cows and goats parade past. A sure sign that winter (and the snow!) is on the way.
